I’m not amazingly beautiful. I’m not the prettiest girl you’ve seen around. I’m not perfect, you must already know. There is so much more I can add to this list.
But what I am, is a gift from God. What I am, is me. What I am, is human. I’m a person like you, just trying to make the best out of myself.
I may not have hundreds of friends, but I sure do have AMAZING ones. I may not be the most amazing lady, but I am one none the least. In my heart, I know I am amazing; it just depends on who is beautiful enough to see that.
(because this is what I put you through. And I wish I could’ve made you happier..)
Mayer explained the meaning behind this song when he appeared on the VH1 program Storytellers in 2011, when he explained that he was very frustrated with so many beautiful women who have “daddy issues.” Said Mayer: “I loved a girl a lot, but she couldn’t trust men. And if you trace it back, it was the first man in her life she couldn’t trust. I know this song sounds like I’m just sitting around the house, spitballing, thinking of really lofty things to think about, but it really is the result of tracing it backwards to find out how I could possibly love this person. And the answer is: you can’t. Because someone else didn’t before you.”
I saw this on your page. It gave me some kind of “open door” to why things may have happened this way. I wish I could’ve been a more confident & sure girl. Sadly, I’m the girl that can barely even choose what she wants to eat for lunch.
The lady in this video has truly touched me, and the hearts of many others — I am SURE about that. She is truly an amazing person, and it is not hard to notice that. I do not know her. But she is beautiful and has done a beautiful thing. Her son, Christian, is the light of her world. She thanks our Lord for Christian, her miracle, her love. I am so pleased and touched by the love they have for eachother and I only pray that they continue to grow strong and happy together! I agree… her son, including herself and her husband, are a true miracle — a work of art.
